Welcome Message
from the Director Of ( ELP )

Welcome to the English Language Program at May University in Cairo (MUC)

I am pleased to welcome all new students to their English language learning journey at MUC. Our program is a vital component of the university’s academic framework and is designed to strengthen and elevate students’ English language proficiency in preparation for success in today’s ever-evolving global environment.

The English Language Program is committed to delivering inclusive and engaging instruction to students at all levels of English proficiency. We emphasize personalized learning that values each student’s background and adapts to their unique educational needs.

Through high-impact teaching methods, hands-on engagement, and a supportive academic environment, we aim to equip our students with the language skills necessary for academic excellence, lifelong learning, and global career readiness.

Program Goals

Our goal is to enhance the quality and impact of students’ English language experience through carefully developed curricula and personalized instruction. The program aims to:

  • Build students’ confidence in using the English language.

  • Strengthen fundamental language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

  • Enrich vocabulary and promote grammatical accuracy.

  • Ensure consistent, practical use of English in academic and everyday contexts.

  • Develop independent learning skills and self-correction strategies.

  • Expand intercultural awareness and understanding through language.

Student
Eligibility

Enrollment in the English Language Program at MUC is determined through the MUC English Language Placement Test: (MET).

  • MET is aligned with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

  • A minimum B1 level is required to register in faculty-specific English Language Credit Course(s).

  • Students with Pre-A1, A1, or A2 results must first complete the non-credit General English Course (ENG100) in their first semester as a university requirement.
