"An Honorable Participation by Students of the Faculty of Physical Therapy – May University"
As part of May University’s ongoing support for its students and its commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and excellence in scientific research, students from the Faculty of Physical Therapy proudly took part in the 3rd International Student Scientific Conference, held under the patronage of the President of Cairo University and hosted by the Faculty of Physical Therapy – Cairo University, under the theme:
“Physiotherapy and AI: Empowering Gen Z for Sustainable Research and Entrepreneurship”
Two outstanding student groups represented the Faculty with innovative research that impressed attendees and left a lasting impact on professors and experts in the field of physical therapy from various universities.
This study proposed remote solutions to improve balance in children with hearing impairments, addressing a challenge that is often overlooked in traditional research.
The project introduced an AI-integrated wearable device that connects EMG (electromyography) readings with functional electrical stimulation to help manage spasticity and improve patients’ mobility and daily performance — offering a practical solution to a previously unmet clinical need
